Exploring Career Pathways
The term "pathways" is currently being used in the context of several educational frameworks. This webinar will focus on the resources of the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium's 16 Career Clusters and 79 Pathways to help guide teachers and administrators in making decisions that build and strengthen career awareness and career exploration.

Strategies and practices will focus on the following goals:

 

Update current CTE programs
Develop new and emerging CTE programs
Enhance rigor and relevance in classroom instruction
Support CTE and academic teachers in career academies
Provide career guidance to students throughout their educational experience

 

 

Presenter
 
Carol Zygo recently retired as a superintendent of schools. In her 39 years in education she has served as a business teacher, representative for South-Western Publishing Co., Instructional Specialist with the Model Schools Program at the Mohawk Regional Information Center, elementary principal for the Oriskany Central School District, and superintendent of the Herkimer Central School District. She graduated from SUNY Albany with a B.S. in Business/Distributive Education and has a M.S. from SUNY College of Technology Utica/Rome in Vocational Technical Education and a C.A.S. from SUNY Cortland in Educational Administration.

Carol now works for the CTE Technical Assistance Center of NY, enjoying her passion for CTE by supporting teachers and administrators in their goal to enhance programs and help students become college and career ready.
