New York’s state-approval/reapproval process for career and technical education programs has raised the quality and rigor of courses that prepare students for employment and postsecondary study. Approved programs lead to an industry-recognized credential or certificate at the postsecondary level, or an associate or baccalaureate degree and offer:
an opportunity to apply academic concepts to real-world situations; preparation for industry-based assessments or certifications; and the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced standing while still in high school; and
work-based learning opportunities where students demonstrate mastery of skills essential in the workplace.
The CTE TAC is offering a special webinar series around the CTE approval/reapproval process. The webinars are designed to focus on every component of the approval/reapproval process and provide guidance and resources to help participants submit complete applications.
