New York’s state-approval/reapproval process for career and technical education programs has raised the quality and rigor of courses that prepare students for employment and postsecondary study. Approved programs lead to an industry-recognized credential or certificate at the postsecondary level, or an associate or baccalaureate degree and offer:
- an opportunity to apply academic concepts to real-world situations;
- preparation for industry-based assessments or certifications; and the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced standing while still in high school; and
- work-based learning opportunities where students demonstrate mastery of skills essential in the workplace.
The CTE TAC is pleased to offer a special webinar series around the CTE approval/reapproval process. The webinars are designed to focus on every component of the approval/reapproval process and provide guidance and resources to help participants submit complete applications. All webinars will be archived and saved on the CTE TAC website for an ongoing reference.
The first in this series was a general introduction to the Program Approval Process. This webinar, Planning a CTE Program of Study, will focus on factors to consider prior to beginning the CTE Program Approval Process.
