New Visions Visual and Performing Arts
The New Visions: Visual & Performing Arts program provides students with opportunities to explore awide array of careers in the visual and performing arts. Based at The Arts Center of the Capital Region in historic downtown Troy, this unique program blends an integrated curriculum in college-level English,music, art, theatre, and film studies with hands-on experiences in a creative academic environment.
Students conceptualize and compose professional quality work in a variety of media—from recording a CD to writing, directing, and filming a movie using state-of-the-art editing equipment. Each spring,students showcase their artwork in the Student/Faculty Gallery at The Arts Center and write and perform a theatre production.

The Visual & Performing Arts program benefits from relationships with many local professionals in the field including musicians, actors, photographers, poets,dancers, potters, filmmakers, jewelry designers, theatre managers, illustrators, gallery directors, art and music therapists, stage managers, authors, and makeup artists.
SUCCESS DATA:
100% of students in program graduating from high school
100% of students accepted in to two-or four-year colleges
100% of students passing 5 Regents exams or 4 Regents exams and an approved substitute exam
