Cosmetology Program
Mastic Beach, NY

The Cosmetology program at William Floyd High School is a two year program offered to juniors and seniors. The program grew out of student interest and economic outlook for salon services in the region.
Students engage with industry professionals in the classroom when stylists from local salons visit to share expertise via demonstrations and trainings.
An articulation agreement with SUNY Farmingdale through the University in the High School program provide students with 3 credits entering college. Alumni partnerships through the Alumni Association support the students through donations used to purchase required cosmetology kits.
The cosmetology students at William Floyd placed 1st in the SkillsUSA VI Regional Competition.
