NYSUT has opened the MyLearningPlan link for the summer classes that will be offered . All six courses that are needed for initial and professional certification will be offered this summer.
*These courses are limited to participants from the CVES, FEH, SLL and JL BOCES area at this time*
For initial certification you must take:
ED 210 Introduction to Exceptionalities
ED 134 Human Development
ED 343 Curriculum Assessment and Instruction
For professional certification you must take:
ED 216 Introduction to Reading: Teaching Children to Read
ED 220 Assessment of Learning
ED 402 Creating A Dynamic Classroom Environment
These are one-week long courses, M-F, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and cost $375 per course, plus books.
ED 216 and ED 402 will have its “main” class at the FEH BOCES in Malone (North Franklin Education Center Computer Lab) but will have distance learning sites at the St. Lawrence Lewis BOCES in Canton and the Jefferson Lewis BOCES in Watertown.
ED 210 and ED 134 will have its “main” class at the SLL BOCES in Canton (computer lab) and distance learning sites at FEH in Malone and Jeff Lewis in Watertown.
ED 220 and ED 343 will have its “main” class at the JL BOCES in Watertown (Bohlen Technical Center Technology Room) and distance learning sites at FEH in Malone and SLL in Canton.
A minimum of 4 people must be at a DL site in order for it to run at that locale.
A minimum of 10 people must enroll in order to offer a class.
Class size – Maximum 20 people.
