The identification and sharing of Best Practices is a substantial component of the CTE TAC of NY work plan with NYSED. TAC collects best practices through various avenues, including the review of approved CTE programs, recommendations/submissions from the field, and observed practices through school/program visits. Using the authentic assessments in Career and Technical Education (CTE) is critical to achieving essential learning for career readiness and further studies. The primary learning goals for (CTE) are to 1) develop technical skills in a career field and, 2) improve academic foundations that keep student options open to further their education. Assessment practices must address this dual purpose of technical and academic.
